Propane is being eyed as the cause of an explosion that killed a mother and her six children in Clinton County.

The children, ranging from three to 11, and their mother perished when a suspected gas leak triggered a blast that leveled their Lamar Township house, WNEP reported.

The powerful explosion was felt and heard over a wide area Sunday morning.

The investigation is continuing.
