Hate Drawing at School Leads to Discovery of Explosive Chemical at Long Island, NY, Home
The drawing of a swastika in a Long Island high school bathroom by a teen led to the discovery of chemicals to make explosives, the evacuation of nearby houses and two arrests.
During the search of the teen's Syosett home Wednesday, Nassau County officers called for the bomb squad and hazardous materials unit after finding the ingredients of incendiary devices, CBS reported.
Investigators determined the teen's father, Francisco Sanles, 48, bought the chemicals on multiple occasions. He and his son were taken into custody.
He was charged with two counts of criminal possession of a weapon and two counts of criminal facilitation while his 15-year-old son is also facing two counts of criminal possession of a weapon, criminal mischief and aggravated harassment
