Fire officials are investigating a Tuesday morning blaze that injured one person and burned through train tracks and about 300 feet of trestle near Harvey Airfield in Snohomish.

The injured person, who was not a firefighter, was taken to a hospital with wounds that were not life-threatening, according to a statement by Snohomish County Fire District 4.

Firefighters responded shortly before 5:30 a.m. to a fire burning along about 100 yards of abandoned railroad tracks and surrounding trestle. The fire was contained by 6:30 a.m., according to the statement.

Some of the burning trestle was above active railroad tracks operated by BNSF Railway. The company temporarily shut down the section of tracks nearest the fire, officials said.

The fire agency temporarily shut down Airport Way and asked people to use alternate routes. The road and BNSF's railroad tracks were reopened by 7:30 a.m., according to the statement.

The Snohomish County fire marshal is investigating what caused the fire, officials said.
