Four Dead in Fireworks-Related Trailer Fire in Barbour County, WV

State fire investigators believe fireworks were disposed of improperly on the porch of the mobile home in Junior.

A mobile home fire that killed four people in Barbour County has been linked to fireworks.

The victims included two men and two women.

Junior firefighters found the trailer fully engulfed when they approached the area late Wednesday night, WBOY reported.

Investigators with the state fire marshal's office reported the victims were unable to escape due to the exit being blocked by the fire.

They determined the fire originated on the front porch where remnants of “consumer-grade pyrotechnic materials” were found.

Evidence showed the fireworks were likely disposed of with other items, and caught fire.

There were no smoke alarms in the residence.
