Nov. 30--A fire left a Pike County business in ruins on Wednesday morning.
Around 8:30 a.m., the Troy Fire Department responded to a mutual aid request from the Brundidge Fire Department at the Charles L. Adams Glass Art Studio, located at 12144 U.S. Highway 231, according to Troy Fire Lt. Brandy Cox.
"The actual building is about three or four miles south of Troy," Cox said. "We responded initially with two units, an engine and a ladder, and upon our arrival, the structure was fully involved. The structure is a total loss."
Cox said initial reports indicated people were inside the structure, but nobody was injured in the fire.
"The dispatch we received stated there were occupants in the building at the time, but they got out on their own and no one had to be rescued," Cox said.
According to the studio's website, the business specializes in stained glass windows.
Cox said the fire took about two hours to knock down.
A Dothan Eagle photographer said fire departments from Brundidge, Troy, Hamilton Crossroads, Banks, Spring Hill, Goshen and Ozark were on the scene.
