Nov. 13--LAKELAND A man killed in a Saturday blaze has been identified by officials as 19-year-old Divonte Sanders
His body was found after Lakeland firefighters put out a blaze at 706 N. Lake Ave., and the residents returned to gather their belongings.
A motorist who was driving by first spotted the fire.
Firefighters arrived at the house, which was fully engulfed in flames, at 4:31 a.m., according to Lakeland Fire Department spokeswoman Hope Warren. The fire was extinguished in about 15 minutes, she said and, though the house was a complete loss, the scene was cleared.
Three people who were at the house, Shakira Hadley, Shamad Hadley and Brittany Baker, didn't realize anyone else was there, Warren said. The body was discovered after firefighters left.
Investigators don't know the cause of death or what sparked the fire.
