Oct. 29--CONCORD -- A fire in a home Friday hospitalized one person with moderate burns and was caused by arson, investigators said.

Firefighters were called to a home in the 1400 block of Grove Way around 8 p.m. The fire began in the kitchen and caused approximately $25,000 in damage to the home and items inside, according to a Contra Costa Fire Protection District dispatcher.

Residents on the street Saturday said an argument at the home preceded the fire. One person requested assistance for "intoxication," the dispatcher said, without providing more details.

Police have not announced any arrests. Two adults were in the home at the time of the fire, the dispatcher said.

The fire remains under investigation.
