1 Dead, 2 Hurt in Fla. Electrical Substation Fire

KISSIMMEE, Fla. -- Officials say one person was killed and two were injured in a fire at an electrical substation in Kissimmee. The fire broke out at the Kissimmee Utility Authority substation off of Clay Street around 9:00 a.m. Firefighters and law enforcement from the city of Kissimmee and Osceola County responded to the fire. One person is confirmed dead and officials say two others were transported to ORMC in serious condition. Witnesses reported hearing an explosion right before the fire broke out.

Officials say one person was killed and two were injured in a fire at an electrical substation in Kissimmee.

The fire broke out at the Kissimmee Utility Authority substation off of Clay Street around 9:00 a.m. Firefighters and law enforcement from the city of Kissimmee and Osceola County responded to the fire.

One person is confirmed dead and officials say two others were transported to ORMC in serious condition.

Witnesses reported hearing an explosion right before the fire broke out.

KUA officials told WFTV workers were doing routine maintenance at the substation at the time of the fire. There was no interruption of power to KUA customers during the incident, according to officials.
