A total of 11 people lived in a home that caught fire and nine of them were able to make it out safely; but, the blaze claimed the lives of two young girls.
The fire started in the two-story home in Uhrichsville at approximately 3:30 a.m.
The cause of the fire remains undetermined, but the fire started in the basement and the home is a total loss.
"Just looked out the door and instantly saw the smoke and flames rolling and just pretty much shocked. We saw it right as soon as the family evacuated the house. They came over here and Susie my mother-in-law called the fire department, and they were on their way. And they got here just shortly after," said Cody Trimmer, a neighbor.
Trimmer said he will be speaking to his church on Sunday to try to help the family. And he hopes the rest of the community will reach out also.
The fire still remains under investigation and investigators will return to the scene Monday to continue their investigation.
