INDIANA, Pa. --

Firefighters spent Thursday morning battling a blaze that broke out at a furniture store in Indiana County.

The three-alarm fire erupted at Rustic Acres Furniture along West Pike Road in Indiana, Pa. Authorities said smoke from the blaze is visible up to five miles away.

Six fire departments battled the massive blaze that burned the 40-year-old business to the ground. Witnesses said they could see smoke for miles.

"Leaving the station, we knew we had a real situation on our hands," said Ron Moreau of the Indiana Fire Association.

Firefighters said everything inside of the store worked as fuel to the fire. Carpets, drapes and all types of furniture went up in flames.

"It's a very big tragedy in Indiana County here. Its a beautiful place, beautiful furniture, I just really hope they rebuild," said Indiana County resident James Shoup.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
