HIALEAH, Fla. --
Residents of an assisted living facility in Hialeah had to be evacuated Thursday morning after a fire started in their building.
There was smoke coming out of the second floor, said Hialeah Fire Department Official Luis Simon.
When firefighters started to extinguish the flames, they found two people on the second floor and quickly rescued them.
Thank God. If I was here, I would have done the same, said neighbor Miriam Gonzalez.
All 23 people living inside the facility are alright and have a safe place to stay.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
