TUCKER, Ga. --

Two people died after a fire broke out Tuesday night in a DeKalb County home for senior citizens with special needs.

Up to eight seniors with mental challenges lived at the personal care facility in a Tucker neighborhood in the 4200 block of Autumn Woods Court.

One neighbor reported seeing "fire shooting out of the garage. I called 911 and the fire department was here in four minutes."

When firefighters arrived one person was dead and the second victim died of burns at a hospital.

Four other residents of the home suffered burns and smoke inhalation.

Firefighters said they believe they know the cause of the fire, but were not ready to release that information.

"We're going to hold onto that until we get all the facts and we've talked to everyone we need to talk with and start to put the pieces together," said Capt. Eric Jackson of the DeKalb County Fire Department.

Firefighters did not release the names of the victims.
