Ohio Man Allegedly Hired Arsonist

DAYTON, Ohio -- A man is in jail accused of hiring someone to burn down his home three separate times. James Hodges, 66, appeared in court Tuesday morning, where a not guilty plea was entered on his behalf. Hodges was charged with three counts of aggravated arson for hire and two counts of insurance fraud.

A man is in jail accused of hiring someone to burn down his home three separate times.

James Hodges, 66, appeared in court Tuesday morning, where a not guilty plea was entered on his behalf.

Hodges was charged with three counts of aggravated arson for hire and two counts of insurance fraud.

Hodges is accused of hiring someone to burn down his house on Rugby Road in Dayton. Police said the first two attempts in September 2009 were not successful. However, the third attempt in October was successful and destroyed Hodges house.

Investigators said Hodges wanted the insurance money.

Police have not named a suspect and continue to investigate the case.
