East Hopewell Twp., --

Fire investigators say an electrical problem with a fish pond sparked a house fire in York County Friday night.

A York County home was damaged by fire Friday night.

12 fire companies responded to the fire on Laurel Road in East Hopewell Township. The fire chief says the homeowner got out safely thanks to a smoke detector.

Narrow roads made it difficult for the nearly 80 firefighters to make their way to the burning home.

The fire chief says one room of the home was saved. He says the homeowner was a large game hunter and had trophies from around the world inside the home.

Damage is estimated at $1 million.
