Two Die in Florida House Fire

TAMARAC, Fla. -- The Broward Sheriff's Office continues to investigate a fatal fire at a home located at 6020 Woodland Point Drive Sunday morning. Firefighters responded after getting the call around 6:30 a.m. According to BSO, two people died and another person was injured in the fire. Investigators said friends had gathered at the home for a birthday party and to watch the Pacquiao/Cotto boxing match.

TAMARAC, Fla. --

The Broward Sheriff's Office continues to investigate a fatal fire at a home located at 6020 Woodland Point Drive Sunday morning.

Firefighters responded after getting the call around 6:30 a.m.

According to BSO, two people died and another person was injured in the fire. Investigators said friends had gathered at the home for a birthday party and to watch the Pacquiao/Cotto boxing match.

The injured man was identified as 27-year-old Nicholas Figueroa. He was transported to Florida Medical Center where he was treated for smoke inhalation.

Figueroa did not live at the home, according to BSO.

Police told Local 10 that on Monday they hope to release the names of the two adults killed in the fire.

The cause of the fire has not been determined.
