MANCHESTER, N.H. --

The Manchester Fire Department has brand new and very talented best friend.

Wynette is a 2-year-old golden lab from South Carolina currently employed by the Manchester Fire Department.

Wynette and her handler trained together in South Carolina for six weeks. She has been trained as an accelerant-sniffing dog and can detect up to 20 different ignitable liquids.

There are approximately 70 of these types of dogs in the country and Wynette is the first to be used in the Granite State.

She came to Manchester through a grant funded by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms.

Wynette was named for country singer Tammy Wynette.
