A string of fires kept crews busy overnight, and now Oklahoma City police are looking for a fire starter.
Officials reported five fires in just a few hours, and all were in the same area. As firefighters put one out, another would be spotted, including one that came close to a house near 149th Street and Andersen Road.
Police said they suspect arson.
Neighbors came to help, using rakes and hoes to fight back the flames.
"He told us there were several fires being set all over the neighborhood, and that does worry me because it means someone is starting them," said Clinton Selcer, who helped put out the fires.
The house in danger was not damaged, officials said; however, 15 acres in the area did burn.
Police had extra patrols and a helicopter searching for a possible arsonist. If you have any information in this case, call 1 (800) 47-ARSON.
The wildfire danger across Oklahoma is extreme on Tuesday as temperatures climb to near 70.
