CORALVILLE, Iowa (AP) -- Investigators are looking for a possible link between three cars fires in Coralville and a recent string of arsons in neighboring Iowa City.

Firefighters were called about 4:30 a.m. Wednesday to a restaurant and a nearby car dealership after a passing motorist spotted the fires and called authorities.

A delivery van at Mondo's Tomato Pie and an employee's car and returned leased minivan at McGurk-Meyers Motors Inc. were damaged, Coralville Fire Chief Dave Stannard said.

A snowplow at the dealership also had a broken windshield and a scorched head rest.

Total damage to the vehicles was estimated at $18,000.

``We're confident it's an arson, but we don't know if there's a tie-in with Iowa City,'' Stannard said.

The fires follow six arsons at Iowa City businesses in recent weeks.
