Texas Residents Escape House Fire by Jumping

-- Dec. 11--FORT WORTH -- Residents escaped from a burning house late Saturday by jumping from a second-story bedroom window, a Fort Worth fire official said Sunday. A family dog was killed in the blaze, which was reported about 10 p.m. in the 1600 block of Lincolnshire Way, in far south Fort Worth. When firefighters arrived, fire and heavy smoke were coming from the garage, fire Lt. Ricardo Neaves said.

Dec. 11--FORT WORTH -- Residents escaped from a burning house late Saturday by jumping from a second-story bedroom window, a Fort Worth fire official said Sunday.

A family dog was killed in the blaze, which was reported about 10 p.m. in the 1600 block of Lincolnshire Way, in far south Fort Worth.

When firefighters arrived, fire and heavy smoke were coming from the garage, fire Lt. Ricardo Neaves said.

The residents had been living in the house less than two weeks before the fire broke out. Investigators were trying to determine the cause.

It was not clear how many people escaped from the home. There were no injuries.
