ROARK, Ky. (AP) -- A man, a woman and three children were found dead Friday inside the charred shell of a mobile home in a rural eastern Kentucky community, and authorities suspect foul play.

Evidence at the scene suggested that the man may have been killed before the fire started, said Leslie County Coroner Greg Walker. He declined to elaborate.

Police at the scene refused to discuss the cause of the early morning fire or whether they believe it had been set.

Walker said the bodies were badly burned, making it difficult to determine the cause of death. Autopsies are scheduled for Saturday.

Arson investigators spent Friday sifting through the charred, two-bedroom single-wide trailer.

Eric Roark, who lives within sight of the burned home, said he was awakened by the sounds of firefighters extinguishing the blaze. Roark said his neighbors, a couple and their three children, were good people.

``They never had any trouble with anyone that I know of,'' he said.

The victims' identities were not released.
