Fire Caused $15,000 To Rental Home
OKLAHOMA CITY -- An Oklahoma City police lieutenant has been arrested on an arson charge for a fire that caused $15,000 damage to a rent house she owns.

Tessa R. Hinds, 41, was freed Tuesday on $10,000 bail shortly after her arrest. She was placed on administrative leave with pay pending the outcome of criminal proceedings.

The fire was reported Monday about 6:30 p.m.

"A 16-year-old girl had shown up and seen smoke," said Oklahoma City fire Maj. Brian Stanaland.

"She went in to rescue some cats and suffered smoke inhalation. It was pretty minor. She was just treated at the scene."

Hinds has been with the Oklahoma City Police Department for 14 years and was working as a second-shift lieutenant in the department's Santa Fe division.
