The Forsyth County Fire Department responded to three suspicious blazes Monday morning in the Lake Lanier area.
The first fire was reported about 5 a.m. at Mary Alice Park, where the gatehouse at the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers park burned to the ground. About an hour later, a pickup truck and boat trailer were torched near the park's boat launching ramp. Firefighters then battled a blaze in a vacant residence about a mile from the park at 7 a.m.
No injuries have been reported in any of the recent fires.
Monday's arson cases have brought the total of suspicious fires in the three-county area to more than 40 over the past two and a half weeks, said Lt. K. Wallace of the Forsyth County Fire Department.
Authorities suspect one people or group of people may be responsible for the blazes.
``They are all suspicious in nature, and we think they are common,'' Wallace said.
A task force of fire investigators from the cities of Alpharetta and Roswell as well as Fulton, Forsyth and Gwinnett counties were pursuing some leads Monday, but no arrests had been made, Wallace said.
The state fire commissioner's office is offering a $10,000 reward for information leading to arrests in the cases.
