A fire in the judge's chambers of the General District Court building yesterday caused about $1,500 in damage and has been ruled as arson, said Deputy Fire Marshal J.E. Boisseau.

Firefighters responded to a call about 6 a.m. The fire was contained to the chambers and no one was injured. Boisseau said there was minimal cosmetic and structural damage to the chambers. Proceedings were suspended yesterday but court will convene today.
