The father of one of the suspects charged with setting the deadly Seton Hall dorm fire pleaded not guilty in Newark Superior Court yesterday to witness-tampering.

Joseph E. LePore, whose son, Joseph T. LePore, is charged with felony murder and arson in the January 2000 blaze, allegedly suggested the family leave the area so his son could avoid facing prosecution.

The fire killed three freshmen and injured 50 in the Boland Hall dormitory on the South Orange campus.
