Dec. 19--An Elgin woman faces a murder charge in the death of a man whose badly burned body was found after a fire at his apartment.
Police said late Sunday that charges were pending against another person in custody.
Jessica Leach, 28, is charged with first-degree murder and is expected to appear in bond court Monday morning in Kane County.
Police said Leach and the second person tried to rob James S. Granger, 61, early Saturday. Leach, who knew Granger, signaled to the second person to come into the apartment at 1 Times Square, police said. The apartment was later set on fire.
Firefighters found Granger's body around 4:45 a.m. Saturday while extinguishing the blaze.
Police said charges against the second person were not expected for several more days.
