Indianapolis firefighters are investigating a series of blazes in a neighborhood on the city's east side.
Firefighters were called to fires at garages and a Dumpster early Friday morning, and property owners fear the blazes were intentionally set, RTV6's Julie Pursley reported.
Henry Cook assessed the damage at his garage near the intersection of Michigan Street and Jefferson Avenue.
He believes a mattress and box springs was set on fire alongside his garage, with the blaze spreading inside it.
"Well, you know somebody deliberately done it," Cook said. "They don't just catch on fire by theirself."
The series of fires began about 2 a.m., with other blazes reported in the area of Keystone Avenue and St. Clair Street.
Indianapolis firefighters said the blazes are under investigation. They aren't sure yet if they are linked.
Arson investigators were called in.
