Dec. 21--A man injured at the site of a fire in Galloway Township on Monday has been charged with setting the blaze.

Galloway police said Thursday they arrested Arnoldo Lopez, 42, on charges of aggravated arson following a fire at the home where he lived on the 300 block of South Genoa Avenue.

The fire started in the second floor bedroom of the two-story house. Authorities said Lopez was unconscious at the scene and had to be carried out of the home by two people.

He was treated at AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center, mainland campus in Galloway Township, for minor injuries.

Police did not release any details about a possible motive. Fire Chief Ron Garbutt said his investigation of the scene was consistent with an arson charge. He said he has yet to speak to the police -- who interviewed Lopez -- about motive.

Lopez was held at a New Jersey Department of Corrections facility in Trenton on $75,000 cash bail, police said.
