Chemical Spill Evacuates Boston University Lab

Jan. 15--Boston firefighters were called to a Boston University laboratory this morning for a report of spilled chemicals, city fire officials reported.

Crews responded to 24 Cummington Mall at the BU Life Science and Engineering Building for a chemical spill in a 7th floor lab, shortly after 11:30 a.m. they said.

"About a liter of Decalhydronaphthalene spilled," a Fire Department spokesman said.

The 12-story building was evacuated, but no injuries were reported, fire officials said.
