Two Calif. Firefighters Suffer Burns at House Fire

Jan. 29--SAN JOSE -- Two firefighters are recovering today after suffering minor burn injuries while battling a blaze that caused heavy damage to a San Jose home, according to a captain with the San Jose Fire Department.

The two firefighters were injured Monday afternoon while battling a two-alarm blaze at a home on Holly Drive, located near the San Jose Country Club, according to fire Capt. Rob Brown.

The firefighters suffered "minor burn injuries" and were taken to a hospital, where they were treated and released, Brown said. Brown could not comment on the specific condition of the firefighters but did say both are expected to recover from their injuries.

There were 11 people home at the time of the fire, which was reported at 12:12 p.m., Brown said. The residents, including some children, got out of the house safely without any injuries.

The home suffered major fire damage. The cause of the blaze is under investigation.

The American Red Cross Silicon Valley responded to assist the displaced family, Brown said.
