Chicago Fire Sends Woman, Firefighter to Hospital

A 70-year-old woman and a firefighter were taken to a hospital after a fire this morning in the Rogers Park neighborhood.

Jan. 30--A 70-year-old woman and a firefighter were taken to a hospital after a fire this morning in the Rogers Park neighborhood.

The fire started at 5:15 a.m. in a 2-story building in the 6900 block of North Greenview Avenue, according to the Chicago Fire Department.

A 70-year-old woman who suffered shortness of breath and a firefighter who had minor injuries were taken to Saint Francis Hospital in Evanston, according to the fire department.

The fire raced through the basement, first and second floors and fire department officials moved for an evacuation of the building because the floors were unstable.

According to the fire department a still and box alarm was canceled about 7 a.m.
