Four-Alarm Fire in Ill. Hospitalizes Two, Hurts Firefighter

Two people were hospitalized and a firefighter sustained a minor injury in an extra-alarm fire Sunday night in unincorporated Lake Zurich.

April 22--Two people were hospitalized and a firefighter sustained a minor injury in an extra-alarm fire Sunday night in unincorporated Lake Zurich, authorities said.

The blaze broke out about 7:45 p.m. in the 2100 block of Glendale Road and was raised to a 4-alarm fire, according to the Lake Zurich Fire Department. Firefighters from about 20 nearby departments responded to the scene.

A resident of the home and a bystander were taken to a local hospital in fair condition, and a firefighter was treated on the scene for a minor injury.

Firefighters brought the blaze under control in about 70 minutes, according to the Lake Zurich Fire Department.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
