Conn. Woman Dies in House Fire

A woman, thought to be in her 20s, didn't make it out of the Suffield home she was in when it caught fire. Two others did escape without injuries.

May 09--SUFFIELD -- A woman has died in a fire that heavily damaged a home at 1489 Mapleton Ave. Wednesday night.

Two people got out of the burning house and were taken to Baystate Medical Center in Springfield.

Neighbors described the victim as a woman in her 20s who worked at a nearby gas station.

The fire broke out about 7 p.m. and firefighters were one the scene into early Thursday. The state fire marshal was called in to assist local investigators in finding the cause of the fire.
