Early Morning Fire Burns Business in South Houston

Fire damaged what appeared to be a storage yard where wooden pallets were stacked in South Houston, Monday morning.

July 01--Smoke billowed into the air early Monday morning as firefighters battled a blaze at a business in south Houston.

The fire broke out about 4:45 a.m. on Cullen near Pederson, according to the Houston Fire Department.

Officials said no injuries were reported.

The fire was burning outside in what appears to be storage yard where wooden pallets were stacked. The fire has been doused but was still smoldering, sending heavy smoke into the area.

Investigators were trying to determine what sparked the fire.
