Neighbors Help Rescue Person from Florida Fire

A pot left on the stove is blamed for the fire.

Sept. 16--Neighbors helped remove a person out of a Boca Raton apartment this weekend after the home became engulfed in smoke from a pan left on a stove-top burner, a Boca Raton Fire Rescue spokesman said today.

Boca Raton Fire Rescue crews were called to the apartment at 315 Northwest 20th Street around 8:20 p.m. Sunday.

A neighbor called 911 to report the smoke. Arriving fire rescue crews found that two neighbors pulled the apartment resident from the home.

Rescue crews evaluated four people at the scene but did not take anyone to the hospital.

The cause of the smoke was from a pan that was left on the stove top burner.
