Simultaneous Fires Reported at One N.C. Building
Jan. 23--Firefighters with two Gaston County departments responded to three fires at the same location Wednesday evening.
At 7:10 p.m., Crowder's Mountain Fire & Rescue and Union Road Volunteer Fire Department answered a call to a storage building fire at 1080 Monta Vista Drive in Gastonia.
Crews found a 24-by-30 storage building fully involved with fire. A vehicle beside the building was also on fire and brush was burning from the blaze.
A total of 15 personnel battled the flames until all three fires were extinguished in about 15 minutes.
Fire caused substantial damage to the building and vehicle and burned a half acre of property, authorities said.
The Gaston County Fire Investigations Task Force is investigating the cause of the fire.
