June 27--DEL CITY -- Two women were rescued from a mobile home fire Thursday before flames engulfed the structure.

They were pulled from the burning home at the Skyline Mobile Home Park, near E Reno and Bryant Avenue, by neighbors and the park manager, Robi Long, a witness said. Emergency workers treated the women at the scene.

Del City fire crews responded to the blaze about 12:45 p.m. but were unable to extinguish the flames before the mobile home was destroyed.

An investigation is ongoing, but the fire appears to have been accidental, fire Maj. Brandon Pursell said.

"It was fully involved when we got there, and there was a mobile home to the north that sustained some heat damage," Pursell said. "Those mobile homes just go fast. They get a good jump on us and burn a lot quicker than a house because of the materials used for their construction."

The two women who lived at the home were a mother and her daughter. One dog was killed in the fire, Long said.
