Former Mo. Firefighter Gets 20 Years for Arsons

Aug. 21--LINCOLN COUNTY -- A volunteer firefighter turned arsonist was sentenced to 20 years in prison Thursday for setting a series of fires last year.
Dustin Matthew Grigsby, who was 19 at the time, set four blazes in occupied buildings, police said. In one case, a man in his 70s had to be rescued from the second story of his home.
Grigsby, of the 200 block of Emerald Court in Old Monroe, was a volunteer with the Old Monroe Fire Protection District. He was arrested last August after a business surveillance camera captured footage of his vehicle just before a garage caught fire.
Circuit Judge Chris Kunza Mennemeyer sentenced Grigsby to 15 years on one count of arson and five years each on three other counts. The five-year terms will run concurrently.
Grigsby in April entered guilty pleas on the four counts. Five other counts were dismissed then as part of a plea deal with prosecutors.
