Md. Crews Dig Through Trash Looking for Victims

Sept. 25, 2014
A man dumped from the dumpster claimed 14 family members were with him.

ESSUP, Md. (WUSA9) -- A man apparently sleeping in a dumpster was picked up, compacted and dumped out of a truck in a mountain of trash at a facility in Annapolis Junction, Maryland on Thursday.

The 11 a.m. incident sparked a huge emergency response at the Waste Management Trash Transfer facility in the 8000 block of Brockbridge Road, because the man told rescuers as many as 14 family members were in the trash, too.

That turned out not to be true.

Workers spotted the man as he was ejected from the rear of a large trash truck in a 14-ton load being dropped.

He was taken to the shock trama center in Baltimore. His identity has not been released.

The truck had made dumpster pick ups in the Langley Park Area of Prince George's County earlier in the day.
