A Newark firefighter indicted for stealing from co-workers remains on the job.
Latina Byrd, 44, was indicted for theft on Nov. 13, according to NJ Advance.
The charges were filed in late February after she allegedly used $2,000 to pay personal expenses instead of cable and expenses at Engine 19, the paper reported.
Fellow firefighters had given her the money to pay the utilities.
Byrd, who is set to appear before a judge on Jan. 20, remains on duty at her job with the fire department’s Community Relations Division. A 14-year veteran, she earned a salary of $104,528 in 2013, according to the report.
