A vacant mansion in Great Falls was found engulfed in flames early Monday.
Fairfax County firefighters initiated an exterior defensive fire attack while simultaneously calling for a tanker task force, a department spokesman said.
With the additional resources, they transitioned to an interior attack.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
The home is located in an area where there are no hydrants.
