N.Y. House Explodes; Elderly Couple OK

The man struck a gas line as he was backing out of his garage.

An elderly N.Y. couple narrowly escaped an explosion at their Henrietta home Tuesday morning

Eugene Upshaw, 79, was backing out of his house and hit the gas line in the garage. He and his wife, Louise, ran next door and a neighbor called 911.

Within minutes, the house exploded.

The gas fed fire burned for more than 90 minutes.
