Firefighters responded to two fires at the same address within 10 hours of each other Tuesday night and early Wednesday morning.
Columbia Fire’s Brick Lewis said the department responded to a fire at a home in Hopkins at about 7 p.m.
Lewis said the fire was ruled accidental due to the improper use of a generator. The incident resulted in one injury and resulted in a transport to a hospital.
About 4 a.m. Wednesday, Columbia Fire responded to the same address. Upon arrival, firefighters found the residence was fully involved and heavy smoke billowing from the home.
Lewis said the cause of the second fire is under investigation. No injuries were reported in that incident.
Lewis said Richland County fire marshals continue to investigate the second fire.
