N.J. FF Charged with Brandishing Machete at Firehouse

The Slackwood firefighter has been ordered by a judge to stay away from the firehouse.

A firefighter charged with brandishing a machete during an altercation has been ordered to stay away from his N.J. fire station.

James 'Jay' Macheda Jr. 22, is accused of threatening fellow firefighters in the Slackwood firehouse in January., according to NJ.com.

During the altercation, he is accused of throwing something at a victim before tossing his pager at a wall, the paper reported, quoting charging documents.

When the firefighters tried again to calm Macheda down, he allegedly responded with: "I am going to kill you."

He also reportedly threatened to bring his gun to the firehouse and shoot the victim, reporters noted.

As he went outside, witnesses reported he threw a cigarette disposal stand at the victim's vehicle.

He got a machete out of his backseat and allegedly threatened to kill his fellow firefighters. 

However, they managed to disarm him, the paper noted.

A judge ordered Macheda to stay away from both the victim and the fire station.
