Police investigators are trying to determine who ignited two incendiary devices outside Google’s Mountain View headquarters Thursday night that caused a small fire and damaged a Google Earth demo car, authorities said.
Mountain View police and fire department officials were called to the building in the 1500 block of Salado Drive at 10:52 p.m.
Upon arrival, firefighters quickly extinguished a small fire on the premises, said Katie Nelson, a spokeswoman for the Mountain View Police Department.
A small section of ground and the building, as well as a Google Earth demo car parked in front of the building, were all singed by fire, Nelson said. The damage, however, was “very minor and superficial,” she said.
Authorities declined to release more information on the two devices found at the scene, saying they had been sent to a lab for testing.
No suspects were in custody.
The incident is under active investigation and authorities said they would release further details as they become available.
