New Orleans Firefighters Battle Four-Alarmer

The fire quickly spread, and additional alarms were requested.

Fire damaged three houses in St. Roch Wednesday afternoon.

Heavy fire and smoke were encountered by New Orleans firefighters.

The fire quickly spread to nearby houses. Firefighters heard from residents that homeless people often stayed in the vacant homes.

The house where the fire started collapsed shortly after firefighters arrived.

During a primary search of the exposure buildings,  firefighters were able evacuate the residents.
