LA County Firefighters Battle Growing Wildland Fire

The Sage Fire was about 700 acres in size last evening and 700 homes are threatened.

The Los Angeles County Fire Department is battling a fast moving wildland fire called the Sage Fire.

Although fire officials call the Sage Fire, as slow moving blaze, in six hours it grew to about 700 acres and forced the mandatory evacuation of 700 homes, according to the television station KTLA5.

The television station reported that at least 200 Los Angeles County Fire Department personnel and 10 aircraft were fighting the fire.

Up to 100 acres were scorched in the first 90 minutes of according to the TV station.
