A Rochester, NY, firefighter was hurt in a two-alarm fire in an apartment building on Saturday morning. His injuries were reported not life threatening.
According to the television News 10WHEC, firefighters were called to fire in an apartment building Park Avenue. When they got on the scene, there was fire in a third floor apartment.
As firefighters extinguished the flames and helped people get out of the building, the firefighter suffered non-life threatening injuries, the television station reported. There were no working smoke detectors in the apartment because the batteries were taken out, the station reported.
A total of six apartments were affected by the blaze and the occupants of those units were being helped by the Red Cross, according to the television station.
