A mobile home fire in Trion claimed six lives and Duluth house fire left five dead.

Two house fires claimed the lives of 11 people in Georgia Sunday.

Four children are among six who perished in a mobile home fire in Trion.

Insurance and Fire Safety Commissioner spokesman Glenn Allen said two adults died in attempts to save the children, according to WSBTV.com.

The fire was reported around 10:30 p.m. in rural Chattooga County.

Just after 3 a.m., five people died when fire consumed a home in Duluth.

Gwinnett County fire officials suspect that a fire pit on the back deck ignited that deadly blaze.

All five of the victims were adults.
