MD House Fire Claims Two Children, One Adult

Fire investigator said no working smoke alarms were found in the Crisfield home.

An early morning house fire in Crisfield took the live of three people Saturday.

Firefighters from Crisfield and several other fire departments were dispatched to Johnson Creek Road just before 6:26 a.m. 

Three people escaped from the home, but two children and one adult perished in the fire, according to the Office of the State Fire Marshal.

Investigators were unable to find any working smoke alarms in the two-story home.

About 50 firefighters responded and brought the fire under control in 90 minutes.
