MA Firefighters Battle Slew of Blazes
Firefighters across Massachusetts battled several fires yesterday.
The most recent was last night, where a Lamborghini caught fire in front of the main Boston Public Library in Copley Square. The cause of the blaze was unknown, and no one was injured.
Officials are investigating a fire at a Watertown home that broke out yesterday morning. Firefighters put out a two-alarm fire at 145 Spruce St. at about 1:24 a.m., battling the blaze for over two hours. Several families were displaced, but no injuries were reported.
The fire burned through the third floor of the three-story home. Residents fled the house, which sustained smoke and water damage on the top floors. Watertown Fire Department is still investigating the cause.
In Avon, firefighters knocked down a fire that destroyed a house at 112 West High St. at 5 a.m. yesterday.
It destroyed much of the interior of the home and gutted the second floor. Though the house was foreclosed for months, firefighters are working to determine if someone lived inside the building where a car was found parked. The fire remains under investigation.
Route 1 northbound was also shut down shortly early Friday morning at 6:45 a.m. on the Tobin Bridge after a car caught fire, sending plumes of smoke across the bridge. No injuries were reported. The bridge reopened to traffic by 8 a.m.
On Thursday night, a two-alarm fire ensnared a house in Winthrop at 36 Wilshire St.
